Chiropractor Near Four Mile Historic Park | Glendale Chiro

Four Mile Historic Park is just over half a mile from our front door, a quick hop across Cherry Creek. If you live near S Forest Street, or anywhere in that quiet stretch around Denver’s oldest building, you’re closer to us than you might think. A lot of our patients from this area walk the Cherry Creek Trail on weekends, or just live in one of the older homes tucked into those streets. Either way, back pain and neck pain don’t have to mean a long drive to deal with them.

A Neighborhood Built Around History

That log cabin at Four Mile Park dates back to 1859. It’s the oldest standing structure in Denver, and it’s still standing because people have taken care of it for over 150 years. The park runs living history events throughout the year, and it draws a steady stream of families, history buffs, and dog walkers.

The houses around it tell a similar story. A lot of them are older too, built before anyone thought much about ergonomics. Narrow stairs. Plumbing that’s been patched more than once. Kitchens where you have to bend at an odd angle to reach the bottom cabinet. We hear about all of it. Gardening in a yard that backs up to the park is another one that comes up a lot, especially in spring.

And then there’s the activity itself. People walk the grounds, bike the trail, spend a whole Saturday on their feet at one of the park’s events. None of that is bad for you. But it adds up, especially on a back or a neck that’s already a little out of alignment.

Convenient Care for This Corner of Denver

This part of Denver is quieter than most. A short hop over the Cherry Creek bridge on Cherry Street connects it straight to our office, so getting here usually takes about 3 minutes, no downtown traffic involved.

Because the neighborhood sits right along Cherry Creek, a good number of our patients here are regulars on the trail, walking, running, biking, you name it. That’s great exercise, but it’s also a fast way to aggravate hips, knees, or a lower back that isn’t tracking right. Dr. Brockway sees this pattern often, someone who’s active and otherwise healthy, but stuck with a nagging ache that exercise alone won’t fix. Correcting the alignment issue is usually what gets people back on the trail without thinking about it.

When to Seek Immediate Medical Care Chiropractic care is not appropriate for every source of back, neck, or joint pain. Seek emergency care right away if you experience loss of bladder or bowel control, progressive weakness or numbness in the legs, unexplained fever with spine pain, pain following a significant fall or accident, or severe pain that does not ease with rest. Dr. Brockway will refer you to the right specialist or emergency provider whenever symptoms fall outside the scope of chiropractic care.
